Ingredients
For the ingredient measurements and the entire recipe, be sure to scroll down to the bottom of the blog post where the recipe card is located.
- Chocolate: You need semisweet and white chocolate. Be sure to use baking bars and not chocolate chips. They don’t melt as smoothly.
- Oil: This helps the chocolate melt smoothly.
- Peppermint extract: Adds a lovely minty flavor to all layers of the bark.
- Candy canes: Crushed candy canes add texture and more minty flavor to the bark.
Step by Step Directions
For the full recipe instructions, scroll down to the bottom of the blog post to the recipe card.
- Melt the semisweet chocolate and spread it over parchment paper on a baking sheet. Refrigerate until bark is set.
- Melt white chocolate and spread it over the semisweet chocolate. Top with crushed candy canes. Refrigerate until set.
- Break the bark into small pieces.

Tips For Success
- Ever wonder why we add oil to melted chocolate? It’s all about that perfect consistency! The oil helps thin out the chocolate, making it super easy to pour and spread. Plus, it keeps the finished chocolate nice and soft, ensuring it doesn’t turn crumbly or hard.
- You can double or even triple this recipe with ease. Just remember to increase all the ingredients accordingly. Make sure to use a larger lined baking sheet to accommodate the extra volume. Follow the same instructions as before, and maintain the same setting times.
