Baked brie is possibly the best appetizer in the world. The scored wheel of cheese becomes melty and oozes out the rind when heated. It’s purely divine.

It’s so simple to make too! Just spread some fig jam over the scored rind and pop the cheese in the oven for 15 minutes. Serve it on a platter with crackers, baguette, or apples.

Ingredients

  • Round brie: Look for a 12-ounce wheel of brie.
  • Fig jam: You can find this in most grocery stores or you can order it on Amazon. You can also use maple syrup or honey.
  • Glazed pecans: I love topping my bake brie with glazed pecans for added presentation.
  • Crackers: Crackers are my favorite for scooping up this melty deliciousness, but you can also use baguette and sturdy fruit like apples and pears.

Ingredients

  • 12 ounces round brie
  • cup fig jam
  • glazed pecans, for garnish

Instructions

  • Adjust oven rack to the center and preheat to 350F.
  • Place the round of brie in a small cast iron skillet or oven-safe dish.
  • Using a serrated knife, make parallel cuts across the top rind, spacing them about ½ inch apart, and cutting just through rind but not through the cheese. Then, turn the brie 90 degrees and score perpendicular to your initial set of cuts, keeping the same ½ inch spacing.
  • Spread the jam over the brie.
  • Bake for 12 to 15 minutes, until the cheese is soft and just starting to ooze out.
  • Remove from the oven and let the brie sit for 3 to 5 minutes or so. Garnish with glazed pecans. Serve with crackers, baguette, or sliced apples or pears.
