APPLE STREUSEL BARS
BAKED BY AN INTROVERT
With a shortbread crust, gooey apple cinnamon center and crunchy pecan streusel topping, these Apple Streusel Bars have all of your favorite apple pie flavors and none of the work! These quick and easy apple pie bars are ready in just under an hour!
In a medium mixing bowl, combine flour, sugar, and salt. Stir with a whisk. Using a pastry cutter or fork, cut in the butter until the mixture resembles damp sand.
Reserve some of the dough for the topping then press the remaining dough into a pan and bake until lightly golden brown.
Toss apples in lemon juice, brown sugar, flour, cinnamon, and nutmeg. Layer them over the cooked crust.
Toss brown sugar, oats, and pecans into the reserved flour mixture.
Sprinkle the topping over the filling. Bake until the topping is lightly golden brown and crisp.
Cool the bars completely then enjoy!
