I’ve got a fun homemade gift recipe for you today, plus a super simple tutorial on how to make these adorable Easter jars!
Before we get to the tutorial, let’s talk about bunny chow. I’ve seen a few bunny chow/bunny bait recipes floating around on Pinterest. Blair’s version is one of my favorites!
But despite all the recipes out there, I still wanted to make my own. My version takes only 10 minutes to put together and is loaded with peanut butter.
To make the bunny chow fun and festive for Easter I added in M&M’s® Pastel Peanut but you can also use the plain variety. Sam’s currently has M&M’s® Pastel 56 oz. and MARS Spring Minis Mix 52 oz. for the holiday so grab them while you can.
Since this bunny chow recipe yields about 10 cups of snack mix, I thought it would be fun to decorate jars to fill and hand out to family and friends.
You just need small mason jars or any jar with a canning lid, scrapbook paper, and stickers.
Separate the lid from the ring and trace it onto the scrapbook paper. Use scissors to cut out the traced circle and place it on top of the lid. Screw the ring back into place. Decorate the outside of the jar with stickers and you’re done.
These cute decorated jars filled with bunny chow make wonderful Easter gifts for friends and family.
- Add cereal to a large bowl and set aside.
- In a microwave-safe bowl, combine the white chocolate, peanut butter, and butter. Microwave on high for 45 seconds, then stir. Continue to microwave in 30-second intervals, stirring in between until the mixture is melted and smooth. Pour the mixture over the cereal and gently stir until all the cereal is coated.
- Transfer the coated cereal to a large zip-top bag and add in the confectioner’s sugar. Seal the bag and gently shake until all the cereal is coated. Spread the cereal out onto a large baking sheet lined with parchment paper and leave it to cool. Sprinkle the M&M’s® over throughout the cereal. Store in an airtight container.
